Jewelry Care
To preserve your jewelry over time, store it away from humidity, ideally in its original box or a jewelry case, keeping pieces separate to avoid scratches. Avoid any contact with water, perfumes, or cosmetic products.
- 925 silver : Silver naturally tarnishes over time due to humidity, oxygen, and sulfur in the air. To maintain their shine, it is recommended to regularly polish your jewelry with a soft cloth. If you wish to clean your jewelry or if it shows slight signs of oxidation, gently rub the surface using a soft cloth (and a soft-bristled toothbrush for recessed areas), lukewarm water, and Marseille soap.
If your sterling silver jewelry is heavily tarnished with black spots (after an initial cleaning with soap), you can safely restore it at home using this simple and effective method. Please note: this method is not suitable for jewelry with gemstones or gold plating.
all you need:
- Bowl + boiling water
- Aluminum foil
- Fine table salt
Instructions:
Bring water to a boil in a saucepan or kettle.
Choose a bowl or container large enough to hold your jewelry.
Line the inside with aluminum foil, shiny side facing up.
Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of salt.
Place your jewelry on the aluminum foil.
Pour the boiling water into the bowl and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- Rinse with lukewarm water, then gently rub with a soft cloth, or use a soft-bristled toothbrush for hard-to-reach areas.
- Dry the jewelry with a soft cloth, making sure no water spots remain.
Regularly wearing your 925 silver jewelry helps prevent tarnishing, as contact with the skin naturally slows oxidation. Feel free to enjoy wearing them!
- Gold Plating: Gold plating naturally wears over time and with use. Its longevity largely depends on the care you provide. To preserve it, avoid contact with chemicals (perfume, deodorant, creams, etc.) and water. Remove your jewelry during manual tasks or sports activities.
